These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They are public so you can hold us to them too.
Every page is signed
Articles carry the name of the person who wrote them, linked to a bio with their background and credentials. Pages that touch rates, fees or product recommendations are additionally reviewed by a second person before publication, and that reviewer is named on the page.
Every number is dated and sourced
Rates, APRs, APYs and fees are recorded with the date a person verified them and a link to the provider page they were verified against. We keep the full history of every check rather than overwriting the old figure, so you can see how a product's terms have moved.
When a figure has not been re-verified recently enough to trust, we mark it rather than quietly leaving it up.
Ratings are editorial
Where we score a product, the score reflects our assessment of the product against others in its category. Compensation does not affect a score, and no partner sees a rating before it publishes. A product with no affiliate relationship can and does outrank one that has one.
We do not give individualized advice in our published work
Nothing you read on this site is a recommendation for your specific situation. We explain how products work and how they compare; the decision, and the facts that inform it, are yours.
We do separately sell one-to-one coaching. That is a paid, clearly-labelled service, and it is coaching and accountability rather than licensed financial, investment, tax or legal advice — VoAtlas is not a registered investment adviser and does not manage anyone's money or select anyone's investments. Buying it changes nothing about what we publish: coaching clients get no influence over ratings, verified rates or coverage.
Plain language
Terms of art are defined the first time they appear on a page. If a sentence needs a finance degree to parse, it is our failure, not the reader's.
AI
We do not publish machine-generated articles. Tools may assist with research or drafting, but every page is written, checked and signed by a person who is accountable for it.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it and say so on the page, with the date. If you have found an error, write to [email protected] — a specific pointer to the figure and page helps us move fast.
Independence
Partners have no input into what we cover, what we conclude, or when a page updates. We decline arrangements that would require any of that.
