VoAtlas is free to read. It is paid for by commissions from some of the companies whose products we write about. Here is the whole arrangement.
What we get paid for
When you follow one of our links and open an account, get approved for a card, or take out a loan, the provider may pay us a fee. The amount varies by product and by provider, and it is typically a flat sum rather than a share of what you pay.
You are never charged more because you came through us. The terms you get are the terms the provider offers.
What that affects
Honestly: which products exist on the site at all, and sometimes where they sit in a list. We cannot write about every product in a category, and commercial relationships are one input into which ones we prioritise covering first.
What it does not affect
- Ratings. A score is set by the editorial team against published criteria. Partners do not see it before publication and cannot appeal it.
- Verified rates. An APY is whatever the provider publishes on the date we checked it. There is nothing to negotiate.
- What we say. If a partner's product has a bad fee structure, the page says so.
- Whether a non-partner can win. Products we earn nothing from appear in our tables and rank above partner products when they are better.
Where you will see this
Any page carrying a partner link shows an advertiser disclosure at the top, before the content — not buried in the footer. Partner links themselves are marked, and pass through a redirect on this domain so we can tell how often they are used.
What we track
We record that a click happened, which link it was, the page it came from, and a truncated version of the network address — enough to count clicks, not enough to identify you. See the privacy page.
