Welcome to the show. If you are dreaming of Portugal, you are not alone. It is honestly one of the best spots in Europe to recharge. Think warm Atlantic breezes, fresh seafood, and sunlight that stays out until late in the evening. Whether you want to wander through the hilly streets of Lisbon or sit by the river in Porto with a cold drink, late spring through early autumn is the time to be there. But we know the upfront cost of the flight can feel like a lot. A ticket usually runs about six hundred and twenty dollars. Instead of dropping that cash all at once, we can talk about how to spread that cost out. You might look at the Discover it Cash Back card. It offers a zero percent intro APR for fifteen months on purchases and balance transfers. That means you pay no interest for over a year on that flight cost. If you break that six hundred and twenty dollar ticket price over those fifteen months, it comes out to about forty-one dollars and thirty-three cents a month. It makes getting to Europe feel much more manageable. But we have to be real here. This is a loan, not a gift. That fifteen-month window is a hard deadline. If you do not pay off the full balance before the intro period ends, the remaining amount starts racking up interest at the regular high rate. That rate is usually much higher than you want to be paying, so you need to have a plan to clear the balance before the timer runs out. Keep that deadline on your calendar and you should be fine.
